Is a 2003 survey on identity theft a good source of statistics for fall 2007?

k8khz asked:

There are many identity theft surveys do you think think that it is right to use 2003 survey information to explain what is happening in 2007?

What would make you think that a survey that is 4 YEARS OLD is a current and accurate source for ANYTHING??!

the data is getting a little to old. there have been too many changes in security and how business is conducted that have changed the risks for identity theft. I would say this data is right on the cusp of being to old to be worth anything. I might be cool to compare this data set to a current data set and see what has changed over the last four years. then the data would be useful.

I don’t think that would be a reliable source of statistics.
    Not at all.
