35 year old Tixtha Martinez has been residing in Morton. She was arrested Wednesday on three counts of identity theft.
Martinez is accused of opening loans at the Central Mississippi Federal Credit Union using a stolen identity. The victims were from Illinois and contacted the Mississippi Attorney General’s office to report the crime.
Martinez is being held in the Scott County jail. Her bond is set at 75-thousand dollars.

This happens all too often in the city I live and the illegal thieves rarely are caught, It’s nice to see these illegals were caught this time.
As far as illegal supporters, I’m sure the will find some creative way to justify that type of criminal behavior just like they do with illegal immigration.

As a group, illegal aliens are stealing identities at a rate that is totally disproportionate to their numbers. Because the Federal Government won’t put the statistics of arrests and trial up, we don’t know what the full number is, but if you go to the Prison System, you discover they go to jail at a rate of over 30% of their population.
But it is correct to say the Americans don’t do that. If we do it, we go to jail, and until recently, when the illegal aliens did it, all that happened was.. they were deported. They were not worried.
But one person in Morton Mississippi? Drop in the bucket and a show case arrest. We need as many as a million in a year to keep up with the crime. The Feds want to bring them out of the shadows and give them our taxes in the form of welfare.
The examples up there are not the standard for U.S. Citizens.. they are the exception. But there are probably some 20 million illegal aliens in this country with stolen Identifications.

I’d tell them that Illegal aliens are respsponsible for thousands of crimes, including domestic violence every month in this country. Many never serve any jail time and are merely deported to return again and again. The US does allow immigration, but illegal immigration is a person who jumps the fence so to speak because they either know they won’t be allowed into the country or don’t want to bother waiting. In any case those who do come into the US legally receive medica screenings, background checks, screenigns for children to ensure both parents are approving the immigration (as sometimes a father kidsnaps his children to come to the US or the mother as in the case of Elian Gonzalez).
The US needs to verify an immigrant has a place to go and someone who agees to sponsor them, as it should be. When this fails to happen due to the deliberate actions of a person it is often to avoid the few laws we have (no contagious persons, no criminals, no kidnappers). So obviously this identity theft is only the tip of the iceberg.

I normally disagree with our immigration laws, but this person is a criminal (tossing the immigration status aside) because of this action and should be punished. People, citizens or not, who are criminals besides for crossing imaginary lines should be punished but those who lead productive lives shouldn’t
